Disney+ has reached a new agreement with the M6 Group, a major French media company, allowing several popular shows from M6 to be streamed on Disney+'s platform. This partnership, between The Walt Disney Company France and the M6 Group, will give Disney+ subscribers access to four flagship programs starting September 25. The first two shows to be available are "Scènes de ménages" (which translates to "Family Matters") and "En Famille" (meaning "In Family"), both known for their focus on family dynamics and real-life situations. These shows have long been staples of French television, drawing large audiences with their candid and often humorous take on family life. The agreement also includes plans to add two more programs to the lineup in 2027: "Mariés au premier regard" (translated as "Married at First Sight") and "The Power: Who Has the Power?" These shows are expected to further expand the variety of content available on Disney+ in France. Additionally, the deal allows for a seven-day early access window for certain programs, meaning that viewers can watch them on Disney+ before they air on M6’s traditional broadcast channels. This move aims to attract a wider audience, especially among the 15-34 age group, and strengthen Disney+'s position in the French market. The collaboration highlights a growing trend in the media industry, where traditional broadcasters and streaming services are working together to offer content in new and flexible ways. According to David Larramendy, Chairman of the M6 Group Board of Directors, this agreement shows how the audiovisual market is evolving and how broadcasters and streaming platforms can create new models that benefit both the public and content creators. Karl Holmes, General Manager of Disney+ in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), praised M6 for producing shows that resonate strongly with French audiences. He noted that "Scènes de ménages" and similar programs have proven to be particularly popular with younger viewers, making them a natural fit for Disney+'s French programming lineup. The addition of these shows is expected to enhance the overall viewing experience for Disney+ subscribers in France, offering a broader range of entertainment options.
