Event highlights Corsican craftsmanship
From Friday, October 30, to Sunday, November 1, the Palais des Congrès in Ajaccio is hosting the seventh edition of the Salon du chocolat et des délices de Corse. The event brings together 65 exhibitors, highlighting artisanal craftsmanship with both sweet and savory offerings.Exhibitors fill the venue
The event has been completely full, with organizers having to refuse two exhibitors due to the limited space at the Palais des Congrès. Paul Pierinelli, founder and organizer of the event, explained that the fair prioritizes Corsican artisans but has also opened up to exhibitors from Greece, Portugal, Italy, and mainland France.New activities for children
This year, the fair has introduced several activities for children, including Disney-themed shows, pirate animations, face painting, inflatable structures, and masterclasses. Alicia, a visitor who attended the fair, noted that she had not expected anything other than chocolate and was surprised by the variety of offerings.Sugar-free chocolate on display
Among the exhibitors, Guy Roux offers an unusual specialty: sugar-free chocolate. A vice world champion and French champion in patisserie and chocolate making, Roux is developing a range dedicated to these products.Flavor focus and accessibility
Roux explained that the sugar-free chocolate has more distinct and precise flavors, with sugar not dominating the taste. He emphasized that this alternative is aimed particularly at people who are required to limit their sugar consumption, stating that everyone should be able to enjoy themselves, even those who are not allowed sugar.Cost challenges and commitment
Despite the increase in the price of cocoa, Roux noted that they are cutting their margins but try to please people anyway.
