Decathlon is currently offering discounted prices on two versions of the Van Rysel E-EDR AF electric road bike. The model equipped with a SRAM Apex AXS 1x12v transmission is now priced at 1,599.99 €, down from 2,799.99 €, while the version with a Shimano 105 2x11S transmission is available for 1,799.99 €, a reduction from 2,449.99 €. These prices are available from August 31, 2026, until stocks are exhausted. The bikes are described as end-of-series models, meaning they are being phased out of production. The E-EDR AF is built around an aluminum frame, which helps keep the weight and price low, with a stated weight of less than 14 kg for the size M model. This is considered light for an electric road bike, making it easier to carry compared to heavier models. The frame uses an endurance geometry, which is designed for comfort over long distances, and includes a fully carbon fork. Both versions feature 32 mm tires, aluminum wheels compatible with tubeless setups, and hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm discs front and rear, providing reliable stopping power. Both models use the Mahle X35 motor installed in the rear hub, offering up to 40 Nm of torque, with three levels of assistance available. The SRAM Apex AXS version includes an electronic and wireless 12-speed transmission with a single chainring, while the Shimano 105 version uses a mechanical 11-speed double chainring setup (50/34). The SRAM model benefits from a larger discount of 1,200 € compared to 650 € for the Shimano version. Both models share the same motor, battery, and frame, with the primary difference being the transmission system. The SRAM version may appeal more to those interested in electronic shifting, while the Shimano version offers a more traditional mechanical setup. Decathlon states that both models offer up to 100 km of autonomy under optimal conditions, making them suitable for various riding scenarios.
