French director Romain Gavras, known for The World is Yours and Our Day Will Come, released his new film Sacrifice, the first of his career entirely shot in English. According to an analysis by Netflix & Chiffres, the film has been viewed 3.6 million times on Netflix since its launch, measured in EVC (Equivalent Viewing Complete), which is calculated based on the number of minutes watched by subscribers during the first weekend of content availability.

Comparison with previous film

This figure is lower than the 4.3 million EVC recorded for Gavras's previous film, Athena, during the same period. The relatively lower performance of Sacrifice may be attributed to the fact that Netflix has only purchased the exploitation rights for the film in two territories: the United States and France.
