The original light novel, written by Kana Akatsuki and illustrated by Suoh, has been running in Japan since April 2021 in the Dengeki Bunko magazine of ASCII Mediaworks under the title Shunkashuutou Daikousha, and currently has eight volumes. The light novel has accumulated awards and selections, notably winning first place in the "Kono Light Novel ga sugoi" ranking of 2022 in the new series category.Manga adaptation and animation
The manga adaptation was entrusted to Nappa Komatsuda and has been running in Japan since July 2022 in the Lala magazine of Hakusensha editions, and currently has six volumes. An animated adaptation produced by WIT Studio was released a few months ago.Themes and universe of the work
The story is based on the theme of the seasons, combining fantasy and romance, and should feature the poetry, nostalgia, and melancholy characteristic of the original artist. According to the publisher, the original writer imagined a particularly well-developed universe, inhabited by complex characters, and describing the lives of divine messengers torn between a very difficult role to assume and their own feelings.Plot summary of the work
At the beginning of the world was Winter. Unable to bear its loneliness, Winter drew on its own life to create Spring. But after the cry of distress from the earth, Summer and Autumn were created, thus completing the four seasons. Human children were then tasked with assuming the transition from one to the other. Hinagiku, a young incarnated goddess bearing the power of spring, is about to rise again. While the season she is responsible for transitioning has been missing from Yamato for more than ten years, she returns to the country determined to resume her mission. Alongside her faithful guardian, she travels through the country to fight those who once abducted her.
