Netflix offers three subscription options in France, priced between 7.99 and 21.99 euros per month. These options differ based on image quality, the number of devices that can stream content simultaneously, and whether the service includes advertisements. Since the summer of 2026, all Netflix subscribers in France have been able to watch live channels from the TF1 group and access TF1+ programs on demand, directly within the app. This feature is included in all subscription tiers at no extra cost. The partnership was announced by Netflix on June 17, 2025. The last price increase in France occurred on April 18, 2025, and since then, the company has raised prices in the United States in March 2026, but French rates have remained unchanged. Netflix is currently the only streaming service in France, aside from Canal+, that offers a subscription costing more than 20 euros per month. It remains the most popular streaming platform in the country, although it is also among the most expensive when compared to services like Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and HBO Max. For instance, the Standard Netflix subscription without ads costs 14.99 euros per month, which is about 5 euros more than Disney+ or HBO Max (9.99 euros) and more than double the cost of Prime Video (6.99 euros). The Standard plan with ads, which replaced the previous Essential plan, is the cheapest option, offering 1080p (Full HD) quality and the ability to stream on two devices at once. Advertisements, averaging 4 to 5 minutes per hour, appear before or during content. Most titles are available with this plan, though some are restricted and marked with a padlock icon. Paid account sharing is not available with this option and is reserved for the Standard and Premium tiers. The Standard plan at 14.99 euros per month is the middle-tier subscription, offering the first ad-free experience. It includes 1080p (Full HD) quality and allows streaming on two devices simultaneously. Adding an additional subscriber to this plan costs an extra 5.99 euros per month. The Premium plan at 21.99 euros per month is the most expensive and feature-rich option, offering 4K UHD quality, support for HDR and spatial audio, and the ability to stream on up to four devices at the same time. This plan is ideal for those who want the highest quality streaming and for sharing with family and friends. It also allows content to be downloaded on up to six devices and includes the option to add up to two additional subscribers, each at 5.99 euros per month with ads or 6.99 euros without. Since May 23, 2023, Netflix has restricted account sharing to people living in the same household, defined by a shared IP address. This change allows users to access their account from anywhere, whether at home, on the go, or on vacation, through account transfer and device management features. However, sharing an account with someone in a different country is not allowed, even with the paid additional subscriber option. Netflix requires that any additional subscriber must reside in the same country as the account holder. People traveling abroad can still access their account, but the selection of movies and series may vary outside the European Union. Netflix is available on a wide range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, PCs, smart TVs, gaming consoles, and VR/MR headsets.
