Dacia's new Striker crossover enters the market under 24,000 euros with hybrid and LPG options.
Dacia launches new Striker crossover
Dacia has begun accepting orders for its new Striker crossover, a vehicle priced below the 24,000 euro threshold. The model is available with a mild-hybrid-G 140 manual transmission engine that runs on both gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), with a fixed price of 23,490 euros.Striker offers four trim levels
The new Striker is available in four trim levels: Essential, Expression, Journey, and Extreme. The last three trims offer access to full hybrid engines with 150 and 155 horsepower, as well as an electrified version with 140 horsepower that runs on gasoline and LPG, available in both manual and automatic transmission. The mild-hybrid-G 140 version is only available in the entry-level Essential trim and only with a manual transmission.Striker's price range and market position
The new Striker has a price range from 23,490 to 31,900 euros. The entry-level model is priced close to some city cars. For comparison, a Peugeot 208 Hybrid 110 starts from 24,200 euros. The Striker is positioned between Dacia’s Duster (from 19,990 euros) and the larger Bigster (from 24,990 euros).Striker's dual fuel system and cost efficiency
The mild-hybrid-G 140 engine uses two tanks, one for unleaded gasoline and the other for LPG. This setup allows for a combined driving range of up to 1,600 kilometers. LPG is significantly cheaper than unleaded 95, with a liter of LPG currently priced at 1,044 euros compared to 2,234 euros per liter for unleaded 95. While LPG leads to a slight increase in fuel consumption, the price difference at the pump largely compensates for this.
