Youth in Indre-et-Loire are voting on participatory budget proposals to fund school improvements and community projects, including accessible playgrounds and green classrooms.
Youth budget voting begins
The Departmental Council of Indre-et-Loire has started the voting campaign for the youth section of its participatory budget, which is the last step before selected projects are implemented. Proposals must be evaluated by December 1st to decide which will be funded from the allocated budget.Projects focus on daily life improvements
Many of the proposals come from young people in the region and aim to improve their daily lives at school. These include renovating schoolyards, acquiring new teaching tools, upgrading study halls or homework assistance rooms, and enhancing public spaces. One idea is to create an accessible playground for people with disabilities at the Monnaie kindergarten.Creative proposals from local towns
In Luynes, the proposal is to create a participatory mural in the style of street art on school walls. In Montbazon, the Municipal Council of Youth wants to restore the municipal mini-golf course, which has become less popular due to lack of maintenance in recent years. Children plan to decorate the course themselves using stylized stencils.Innovative solutions for sustainability
In Chambray-lès-Tours, funding is being sought to recharge phones using pedal-powered machines. In Fondettes, the goal is to create a green classroom using a tree-lined path near the Jean Roux College. Wooden and rope structures will be built, incorporating mathematics, on which climbing plants from the science class will grow, forming screens and a natural dome. This is a solution to combat heat without air conditioning.Vote for the projects
