Goodmeet, a new AI-powered notetaker introduced by Goodnotes, is designed to help users transcribe meetings directly on their Mac computers while keeping the content private. Unlike many similar tools, Goodmeet uses a special kind of secure computing called confidential computing, which ensures that meeting content is processed in an isolated environment. This means that no one—neither the company nor its employees—can access, read, or use the transcribed notes. This approach is particularly appealing to users who are concerned about the privacy of their conversations.
For shared notes, Goodmeet employs end-to-end encryption, a method that ensures data is only readable by the intended recipient. This means that when users sync their notes across devices or share them with colleagues, the content remains protected and unreadable by anyone else. Gabriel Jourdan, a Product Manager at Goodnotes, explained that the processing happens in a sealed environment with end-to-end encryption, making it impossible for even the company’s engineers to view the notes. This adds an extra layer of security for users who handle sensitive or confidential information.
Goodmeet is currently available in a beta version and is free to try. It is compatible with Macs that use Apple silicon chips, including the M-series and A-series chips. The company is actively working on expanding support to more devices, including desktops, laptops, and mobile phones, as well as adding additional features focused on user privacy. Steven Chan, the founder of Goodnotes, described Goodmeet as a tool for capturing what people say, while Goodnotes itself focuses on what people write. Both tools are now part of Good Systems, a company with the mission of turning thoughtful ideas into productive work.
As the use of AI in note-taking and transcription grows, Goodmeet highlights a growing trend in the tech industry: the development of tools that prioritize user privacy and data security. By offering a secure and private way to transcribe meetings, Goodmeet aims to provide professionals with a reliable solution that aligns with their need for both efficiency and confidentiality.
