UGreen CEO Samuel Zhang recently shared the inspiration behind the company's new smart-home technology suite during a product launch event. The idea came from a personal experience where he and his family missed capturing photos during a memorable barbecue. This led him to imagine home cameras that could record not only security events but also the joyful moments of everyday life. At IFA 2026 in Berlin, UGreen introduced its latest innovation, the HomeAgent, an "agentic AI local hub" that combines local storage, computing, and control into one device. This hub enables users to connect a variety of UGreen AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) devices, such as cameras, smart speakers, and digital photo frames, as well as some third-party products.
A standout feature of the HomeAgent is its use of local storage and computing, which processes data on the device itself rather than sending it to a corporate cloud server. This approach could be a major selling point for users concerned about privacy and data security, especially in light of growing distrust in large corporations and the rising number of data breaches. The HomeAgent will be available in three models: the HA100, HA100 Pro, and MA100, with the MA100 being the most powerful and featuring the NVIDIA Jetson Thor T5000 processor. The list prices are $19,999 for the MA100, $5,999 for the HA100 Pro, and $1,799 for the HA100. Early bird discounts, which reduce the prices by about half, are currently available, with shipping expected to begin in early 2027.
The HomeAgent is demonstrated alongside a smart speaker with an AI assistant named Uliya, capable of performing various tasks around the home. These include reminding users of their location at a specific time, closing curtains, playing music, identifying a pet’s location, and casting live video feeds. The smart speaker can also summarize events captured throughout the day, display memories in real-time on a UGreen smart photo frame, or show highlights from a special day. Another notable feature is the "Away mode," which automatically turns off lights, closes curtains, and activates a robotic vacuum when the user leaves the house.
Zhang expressed his hope that in the future, every family will have a HomeAgent, enabling them to capture and manage their daily lives more effectively. The product aims to bridge the gap between home security and personal memory preservation, offering a more integrated and user-focused smart home experience.
