Derby match postponed

The derby between Orléans and Blois, a highly anticipated regional rivalry in the ELITE 2 league, is not being played this Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. as previously scheduled.

Teams face similar challenges

Both teams, Orléans and Blois, have faced early-season struggles and inconsistent performances. Orléans, led by coach Lamine Kébé, has recently balanced its record with a win against Hyères-Toulon, while Blois, under coach David Morabito, has also shown mixed results despite off-season restructuring.

Coaches remain cautious

In interviews with regional newspapers La Nouvelle République and La République du Centre, both coaches expressed similar concerns about their teams' performance. Kébé described Orléans as resembling a completely new team due to significant player changes, while Morabito acknowledged the "many highs and lows" his team has experienced.

Derby atmosphere downplayed

Both coaches emphasized that the match is just another game, not a final. Kébé stated it is "clearly not a final," and Morabito added that as a coach, one cannot rely on just two games to determine success.

Orléans faces pressure

Despite Blois's recent successes at their home venue, Orléans holds a significant advantage with a budget of over 7 million euros. Morabito noted that Orléans has "a bit of an obligation to move up," adding that the team's financial strength and venue create additional pressure.

Coaches highlight talent

In an interview with Sweet FM, Kébé praised Blois's roster, particularly American point guard David Coit and young player Loïs Grasshoff. While the derby is downplayed, both teams see it as an opportunity to build momentum and validate their current form.
