RAGT launches its first rooftop solar plant in Albi, producing 600 MWh annually, with 90% self-consumption and plans for future expansions.
RAGT installs solar panels on its Albi roof
The agricultural company RAGT has installed its first rooftop solar power plant at its industrial site in Albi, Tarn. The system, covering over 2,300 square meters of roof space, will generate more than 600 MWh of electricity annually.Solar power will supply most of the site’s needs
Ninety percent of the electricity produced by the solar panels will be used directly at the Albi site. This will help meet nearly 10 percent of the plant’s total energy requirements, reducing reliance on external energy sources.Project aims to stabilize energy costs and cut emissions
By producing its own electricity, RAGT aims to control energy expenses with a fixed price over time. The initiative also helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with the industrial site’s operations.Tenergie handles construction and operation
The project was developed and will be managed by Tenergie, an independent energy producer based near Aix-en-Provence. The company was responsible for both the construction and the ongoing operation of the solar installation.Future projects in Aveyron and Albi
RAGT and Tenergie are exploring two additional photovoltaic projects. One is planned in the Aveyron, a region with historical ties to RAGT, and the other involves expanding the existing solar plant in Albi.
