Solar plant in mountain commune

A solar power plant has been installed in the commune of Val-de-Sos, located at an altitude of 720 meters. The site uses a combination of an existing roof and three canopies to generate electricity.

Installation details

The installation includes solar panels on an existing roof with a capacity of 175 kWc and three canopies with a combined capacity of 325 kWc. The total number of solar modules used is 1,086, covering an area of 2,170 square meters.

Energy production

The solar power plant is expected to produce 590 MWh of electricity annually. This amount is equivalent to the average annual electricity consumption of 131 households, providing a significant local energy source.

Energy distribution plan

The power plant, developed by Phénix Solar, is designed to supply electricity to an extended collective self-consumption loop. This system is open to local merchants, businesses, and authorities in the area, though the perimeter of the loop is still being validated.

Local energy vision

Emeric Truphemus, president of Phénix Solar, emphasized that the project demonstrates how a mountain site can become a local energy producer. By using every available square meter, the project aligns with the company's goal of producing electricity close to where it is consumed in the Ariège region and throughout Occitanie.
