Solar canopies installed at Aix-les-Bains parking lot

Five solar canopies with a total power capacity of 530 kWc have been installed at the Daniel Rops parking lot near Lac du Bourget in Aix-les-Bains. These canopies cover 188 parking spaces and are expected to generate 570 MWh of clean, local electricity each year, enough to power about 250 residents.

Project led by two local companies

The local government partnered with SeeYouSun, a solar operator specializing in photovoltaic power plants and electric mobility infrastructure, and Savoie EnR, a mixed economy company that supports renewable energy projects in local communities. These two companies managed the entire process, from planning to installation and long-term maintenance.

Multiple contractors involved in construction

Various local contractors were involved in different aspects of the project. Thomas Heillette handled the foundations and roadwork, Ravoyard fabricated the framework, and Liyaness Charpente assembled the canopies. Grivale Energies was responsible for the electrical work.

Mayor highlights project benefits

Mayor Renaud Beretti emphasized that the project allows the commune to improve public spaces without financial investment, prepare for future electric vehicle charging needs, and align with regional climate and energy goals. He also mentioned that another solar project will soon begin at the local hippodrome, covering the equestrian arena.
