easyJet has announced a series of new flight routes from France for the summer of 2027. These routes will be available for purchase starting on September 24, 2026. Among the new destinations is Malaga, a popular beach city in southern Spain. From Corsica, easyJet will offer two flights per week to Malaga, beginning May 7, 2027. The company will also connect Bastia, a city on the northern coast of Corsica, to Manchester, England, starting June 29, and Ajaccio, the capital of Corsica, to London-Gatwick, starting June 30. Each of these routes will operate twice a week. In addition, easyJet will launch a new route from Montpellier, a city in southern France, to Bristol, England, beginning July 1, 2027. This flight will also be operated twice a week. The airline has been expanding its network in response to growing demand for regional travel and to compete with other low-cost carriers. These new routes follow the success of easyJet's summer flights to the United Kingdom in previous years. Other recent news about easyJet includes an agreement reached just before a potential strike, and updates on its operations in Corsica. For example, Atelier Voyages, a travel agency in Ajaccio, has launched direct trips to Tanzania and Egypt from the island. Meanwhile, the airline has also postponed a planned strike notice by SNPL, a labor union, and has been working to improve its business services to stay competitive with Transavia, another low-cost airline. Some analysts suggest that the low-cost airline model may be evolving as passenger expectations and market conditions change. Reginald Otten, easyJet's deputy director for France, stated, "Following the success of this summer's flights to the United Kingdom, we continue to develop our regional network." This statement highlights the airline's strategy of expanding its reach while maintaining its focus on affordable travel options. The new routes from France are expected to provide more choices for travelers seeking both domestic and international destinations.
