The British airline easyJet has announced the sale of 18 new routes from ten airports in the United Kingdom for the 2027 summer season. These routes will connect the UK to destinations in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Montenegro, and Bulgaria. The first flights will depart on March 28, 2027, at the start of the IATA summer air travel season, which is the standard period for increased international travel. Spain accounts for six of the new routes, including the debut of Gérone in easyJet's British network. The Liverpool-Gérone route will be inaugurated on March 28, 2027, with two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Sundays. easyJet claims it will be the only airline to offer a direct connection between Liverpool and Gérone. Other new routes from the UK to Spain include Aberdeen to Barcelona starting March 31, Aberdeen to Palma de Majorca on May 3, Liverpool to Murcia on March 29, and Edinburgh to Bilbao starting March 30. France is also part of the program with three seasonal connections: London-Gatwick to Ajaccio starting June 30, Manchester to Bastia starting June 29, and Bristol to Montpellier starting July 1. easyJet states that it will be the only airline to offer direct flights on all three routes. Six of the 18 announced routes will be operated from Scotland, with Aberdeen benefiting from two new Spanish routes, to Barcelona and Palma de Majorca. Edinburgh will have four new routes: Hamburg and Tivat from March 29, then Bilbao and Rome-Fiumicino the following day. The Edinburgh–Tivat service is unprecedented, as easyJet indicates it is the first airline to directly connect the two cities. Birmingham will complete this movement with two routes: Milan-Malpensa from March 29 and Tivat starting May 3. The connection to Malpensa will also be exclusive to easyJet. Other routes include Bristol to Burgas, on the Bulgarian Black Sea, from May 28; Newcastle to Larnaca, in Cyprus, from March 31; and London-Southend to Rhodes from April 27. London-Luton will open a weekly connection to Thessaloniki on May 1. Most routes will be operated twice a week, while Newcastle–Larnaca and London-Luton–Thessaloniki will have only one weekly rotation. easyJet claims exclusivity on ten of the 18 new direct routes. All destinations will also be marketed by easyJet holidays in the form of packages combining flight and hotel. The operator specifies that its stays also include a 23 kg checked baggage allowance and transfers for seaside packages; a deposit of 60 pounds per person is announced for the booking. This series of 18 openings comes less than two months after the mass sale of easyJet's 2027 summer program. On July 28, the airline announced nearly 14 million seats on more than 78,000 flights to and from the United Kingdom for the period from June 14 to September 26, 2027. easyJet operates from 22 airports in the United Kingdom and now offers more than 650 routes to 139 destinations in Europe and beyond. According to figures published on September 24, the airline transported 100 million passengers in 2025 and operates more than 350 aircraft on more than 1,200 routes serving more than 160 airports in 35 countries.
