Bastien Amat qualifies for PQ2

Bastien Amat, a French golfer, has secured his place in the PQ2, the second stage of the Cartes qualification process, which begins in September in Germany. This achievement continues his journey toward earning a spot on the DP World Tour, the premier European golf circuit.

Recent performance boosts confidence

Amat’s recent fourth-place finish at the Abu Dhabi Challenge, combined with two weeks of training in Bordeaux, has prepared him for the upcoming event at the Golf Club Las Pinaillas in Spain. This tournament is the second stage of the qualification process, following his sixth-place finish at the Golf-und Country Club Seddiner See in Germany.

Training in Bordeaux improves readiness

During his time in Bordeaux, Amat took advantage of ideal weather conditions and the presence of other players to conduct multiple training sessions. He focused on practicing on the greens, which were in excellent condition, and worked on scenarios similar to those found in competitive tournaments.

Collaboration with local players helps

Amat played alongside Julien Quesne and other local golfers in Bordeaux, which he found beneficial for both his technical skills and his mental approach to competition. He credits his fourth-place finish in Abu Dhabi with reinforcing his confidence, showing he can maintain his performance throughout a full tournament.

Challenges at Golf Club Las Pinaillas

The Golf Club Las Pinaillas, where Amat will compete, is known for its tricky layout, with several holes requiring careful decision-making between aggressive play and risk management. While some holes offer birdie opportunities, poor choices can lead to quick penalties, making patience a key strategy.

Focus on long-term goals

Amat is aware of the high stakes involved in the Cartes qualification process, which differ from regular tournaments. However, he remains focused on playing his best and managing his energy. His ultimate goal is to return to the DP World Tour, where he previously competed after a strong performance at the Tarragone final two years ago.
