The CGT social and medical-social union of the Doubs has highlighted that young people are particularly sensitive to injustice and have not yet accepted it as a normal part of life. The union believes that young people reject the idea of fatalism—the belief that events are predetermined and beyond one’s control—and are instead driven by a desire for change. The CGT emphasized that mobilization—organized collective action—must act as a powerful force to bring about transformation in society. The union is calling for workers to "enter into struggle," signaling a push for stronger labor activism. On Tuesday, October 13, the CGT, along with other groups, will demand the withdrawal of a bill concerning public funding and the financing of social security. The union also seeks permanent resources and stable positions for its social and medical-social services, which are crucial for supporting vulnerable populations, particularly children and adolescents. Improving working conditions and increasing salaries are also central to their demands. In addition to these demands, the CGT, alongside other trade unions, has proposed an amendment to collective agreement 66. This amendment would increase all salaries by 134 points, which equates to approximately 454.26 euros gross per month. The proposal also includes six days of paid leave per quarter for all workers and the introduction of full pension benefits at the age of 60 for everyone. These measures aim to provide better financial security and work-life balance for employees. No specific meeting points or locations have been announced for upcoming actions or discussions related to these proposals. The CGT is expected to continue pushing for its demands through various forms of mobilization and dialogue with relevant authorities.
