New clinic opens in Pamiers
An assisted teleconsultation clinic will open in Pamiers on November 24 to help residents who do not have a primary care physician. The clinic, located on Gabriel-Péri Street, is managed by the Territorial Professional Health Community (CPTS) Ariège-Pyrénées, which reports that 1,821 people in the area lack a regular doctor.Targeting specific groups
The clinic will serve residents over the age of 16 who do not have a primary care physician. This includes people over 70, those with long-term illnesses, and individuals who receive the solidarity health complement (C2S), a financial aid program for low-income individuals.Nurses support the process
A dozen independent nurses from the area will be present at the clinic to assist patients. They will greet visitors, collect necessary information, and perform basic medical tests using equipment available on-site. This ensures that patients are prepared for their remote consultation.Doctors join via video
General practitioners from the Occitanie region will participate in the consultations via videoconference. They will be able to review the nurse's findings and assess the patient's condition in real time, taking into account the local medical context.Limitations of the service
The clinic is not a replacement for traditional medical care. It cannot handle procedures like sutures or treat urgent conditions such as severe abdominal pain. Patients who need assistance communicating will also not be able to use the service. How to access the clinic
The clinic will begin accepting patients on November 24. Those interested in scheduling an appointment can contact the clinic at 09 77 44 73 70.
