Health platform opens in Beaucaire
A new health platform named Lo caïre has opened in Beaucaire to help address the shortage of primary care doctors in the area. The initiative was created by two general practitioners, Adina Dinu and Mariel Autard, who have started offering consultations at the platform since it opened.Junior doctors to join platform
Adina Dinu and Mariel Autard are also preparing to mentor two junior doctors, Célia Roig-Pons and Julie Chevalier, who will begin their practice in Beaucaire in November. These doctors will receive training for one and a half days each week before returning to their practice in Bouillargues.Platform inaugurated by local officials
The platform was officially opened on Wednesday evening by the mayor, Nelson Chaudon, and the sub-prefect, Philippe Dumas. The mayor stated that the initiative has already saved lives and expressed confidence in its long-term impact.Platform serves 13 communes
Since opening in June, Lo caïre has welcomed nearly 500 people. It provides services to residents of the thirteen communes of the CPTS of Costières en Camargue who suffer from chronic illnesses and lack a primary care physician.Platform's origin and structure
The idea for Lo caïre came from the Territorial Health Professional Community of Costières en Camargue (CPTS), which proposed prevention actions to the commune. The platform uses a care pathway that includes nurses, some with advanced training, who conduct initial consultations and assessments.Future plans and funding
The platform plans to include social services and prevention workshops in the future. Philippe Dumas announced 130,000 euros in funding from the ARS and the arrival of a liaison adult in early 2027, who will help with health mediation and access to rights.Challenges and sustainability
While the mayor praised Adina Dinu and Mariel Autard for their role in the initiative, he also noted that he handled the land issue. Adina Dinu and Mariel Autard hope the junior doctors will choose to settle in Beaucaire, but similar projects in Alès have shown the fragility of such structures. How to access the platform
Patients with chronic illnesses who do not have a primary care physician and live in one of the thirteen communes of the CPTS of Costières en Camargue can access Lo caïre. Appointments can be made by phone at 04 49 23 22 01, by email at msplocaire@gmail.com, or through the website cpts-costieres.org.
