The French government has unveiled a new initiative called Impulsion IA 2027, aimed at integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the country's education and employment systems. The plan focuses on using existing platforms and organizations to provide access to AI training for all workers and job seekers. These platforms include Pix for skills development, CFA for apprenticeships, CPF (a fund for continuing education), and France Travail for job seekers. The initiative includes a public platform, a certification program, learning paths, and tools for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Rather than training the entire workforce at once, the government seeks to embed AI training into existing networks that already reach a wide range of people. One of the first tools under the plan is called Explore IA, developed with Pix, and is expected to launch in January 2027. This platform will offer training modules to help workers understand how AI can be used, its limitations, and the risks involved in the workplace. The government is relying on established organizations that already serve specific groups, such as France Compétences for reference frameworks, OPCO for industry-specific training, chambers of commerce for small businesses, and France Travail for job seekers. While the plan allows for quick implementation across the country, it may lead to a分散 of responsibility for execution. The government also plans to create a professional certification called "use artificial intelligence in professional activity," developed in partnership with Afpa and Anssi. This certification will ensure that AI-related training is eligible for the CPF and will be considered a national training priority. The CPF is seen as a key component of the plan because it can rapidly drive demand for AI training. France Travail will take on an expanded role, requiring new job seekers to undergo a skills assessment and receive a personalized introduction to AI. For SMEs and micro-enterprises, the government plans a pilot program called Impulsion IA RH in two regions, with potential expansion in spring 2027. More than 400 Enterprise Task Forces already operating in France will also be mobilized. The third part of the plan focuses on working conditions, including the creation of an observatory to monitor AI's impact, financial support for social dialogue in industries, and collaboration with organizations such as Anact, Ires, and CNIL. The government has also revived 665 million euros from the national AI strategy under France 2030, but this funding is not explicitly allocated to the Impulsion IA 2027 plan, as specific details on the budget for the platform, training centers, or the observatory have not been provided.
