Michel Cordier elected GCR president

Michel Cordier has been elected as the new president of the Groupement des concessionnaires Renault (GCR), taking over from Jérôme Daumont, who served for six years. Daumont continues in his role as president of the European GCR and of Ciscar, a French association for car dealers.

Cordier's background and experience

Cordier is a vice-president of the GGP group, a major automotive distributor based in northern France. With over forty years of experience in the Renault network, he oversees a group that sells more than 30,000 new vehicles annually, primarily Renault models, and employs nearly 2,000 people, generating around 1.3 billion euros in annual revenue.

Focus on network profitability

Cordier has emphasized that improving the profitability of the Renault dealership network will be a key priority during his presidency. As a long-time member of the GCR, he aims to lead with unity and dialogue, especially as the automotive industry undergoes significant economic changes.

Strategic goals for the association

He plans to strengthen the GCR's role in shaping decisions that affect the future of the Renault dealership network. His strategy includes defending the collective interests of dealers and ensuring sustainable profitability, while also reinforcing the association's influence in industry discussions.

Strengthening dealer-Renault relations

Cordier believes it is essential to ensure the voices of Renault dealers are heard and to solidify their partnership with the manufacturer. He described the dealership network as one of Renault's greatest strengths, citing dealers' local market knowledge, territorial presence, and investments as critical to the brand's commercial success and customer satisfaction.
