Re-election of AECP president

André Figueiredo has been re-elected as president of the European Association of Peugeot Dealers (AECP), securing his third consecutive term during a meeting held alongside the Paris Motor Show. The executive committee for the 2027-2029 term has now been officially confirmed.

Figueiredo's leadership experience

Figueiredo, a Portuguese automobile distributor, has led the AECP since December 2020. During his tenure, he has guided the association through major developments in the European automotive sector, including the post-pandemic recovery, the negotiation of new distribution agreements, and recall campaigns involving PureTech engines and Takata airbags.

Challenges in the automotive sector

Figueiredo noted that the past six years have brought major changes to the automotive distribution industry. He stressed the need to maintain a productive relationship with Stellantis, the parent company of Peugeot, and pointed out that dealer profitability is still under pressure, requiring ongoing attention to regional market differences.

Future goals and collaboration

Looking ahead, Figueiredo’s priorities include ensuring the long-term sustainability of dealer networks and monitoring the rollout of Stellantis’ Fastlane 2030 strategic plan. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with other European associations representing Stellantis’ brands and forming partnerships that add value for dealers.

AECP board composition

The AECP board includes five vice-presidents: Christophe Maurel (France), Simon Bailes (United Kingdom), Maria Fernandez Guinea (Spain), Karin Fritz (Austria), and Massimo Lovera (Italy). Arne Brouwers (Netherlands) and Thibault Lebert (France) were elected as treasurer and general secretary, respectively. The current board members are the same as those from the previous term, indicating continued trust in the leadership team.
