Beyerdynamic, a well-known German company specializing in high-quality audio equipment for both professional and home use, has introduced a new model in its Aventho line called the Aventho Y. This wireless over-ear headset is designed for users who want a balance between performance and convenience. One of its standout features is a replaceable 650 mAh battery located in the left earpiece. A magnetic system allows users to remove the ear cushion and access a small compartment containing the battery, enabling them to replace it themselves without needing technical support. This user-friendly design is also found in other high-end models like the Fairphone Buds XL and Sennheiser Momentum 5 Wireless. The Aventho Y uses 45 mm dynamic drivers, which are responsible for delivering sound, and it has a frequency response range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, covering the full spectrum of human hearing. It includes active noise cancellation (ANC), which electronically reduces background noise, combined with passive noise isolation from its over-ear design that fully encircles the ear. The headset uses Bluetooth 6.0, which offers improved speed and connectivity, and supports Multipoint technology, allowing users to switch between two devices, such as a smartphone and a laptop. It supports SBC and AAC codecs, but not the higher-quality aptX or high-resolution audio codecs. The Bluetooth range is claimed to be up to 20 meters. Available in four vibrant colors—Liquid Black, Blue Fusion, Soft Jade, and Peach Blush—the Aventho Y stands out with its colorful options, which are less common in the premium audio market. The headset has an aluminum frame and retains the round earpiece design typical of the Aventho series. It weighs 316 grams, which is relatively light for a full-sized over-ear headset. The Aventho Y can provide up to 90 hours of playback without ANC and over 60 hours when it is active. A full charge takes about one hour using a USB-C port, and a quick 5-minute charge adds around six hours of use. A wired connection is also available via a USB-C cable included in the package, which can be used for both charging and audio. Beyerdynamic also plans to release an optional USB-C microphone called the META VOICE Boom Mic in October, which can be used to turn the Aventho Y into a dedicated device for voice calls or gaming. Additional velvet ear cushions, available in black or gray, will be sold separately to allow users to customize comfort or appearance. Priced at around 150 euros, the Aventho Y aims to offer a compelling mix of design, functionality, and user-friendly features at a competitive price point.
