As the highly anticipated release of GTA VI approaches, many PlayStation 5 owners are looking for ways to manage their game libraries more efficiently. One popular solution is to add extra storage to the PS5, which can help avoid the need to frequently delete and reinstall games. The Lexar ARES 512 GB, a high-speed internal storage drive, is currently available on Amazon for 99.99 euros, exclusively for Amazon Prime members. This price includes a 7 percent discount, and the lowest price recorded in the past 30 days was 106.99 euros. The drive is designed for users who need quick access to large files and games without the hassle of limited internal storage. The Lexar ARES 512 GB is an internal M.2 2280 NVMe SSD that uses PCIe Gen4x4 technology. This format allows it to achieve read speeds of up to 7,200 MB/s, making it a powerful option for gamers who want fast load times and efficient data access. Its main appeal lies in its compatibility with the PS5 and its relatively low price, which is just under 100 euros. While it is a targeted purchase for those preparing for GTA VI or other large games, it is not meant to be a long-term storage solution for everyone. For PS5 users who want to keep multiple AAA games installed without constantly managing storage space, the 512 GB capacity can be a practical and cost-effective option. However, it's worth noting that modern games can take up significant space, and 512 GB may fill up quickly if several games are installed at the same time. In such cases, a larger capacity like 1 TB or 2 TB might be more suitable, though these options come at a higher cost. Before purchasing, it's important to check if the PS5 has a proper thermal dissipation system, as the Lexar ARES 512 GB does not include an integrated heatsink. On compatible PCs, the same drive can be used for fast storage of games and large files. The main advantage of this offer is that it combines a high-speed Gen4 SSD, a useful capacity, and an entry price under 100 euros, making it an attractive option for those looking to prepare for major game installations without overspending. However, users should consider their long-term storage needs before making the purchase.
