Lucie Bernardoni, a former contestant from the 2004 season of the French reality show Star Academy, has announced her departure from the program. She had been serving as a coach since the show's revival in 2022 and was expected to be part of the upcoming season, which is set to air in the autumn on TF1. Bernardoni made the announcement on Instagram on the 22nd anniversary of her season, expressing that she would follow the new group of contestants with "attention and enthusiasm" while thanking those who have contributed to the show's success. She also mentioned the new coach who would join forces with Fanny Delaigue, a previous collaborator. Bernardoni first gained fame in Star Academy in 2004, where she reached the final but lost to Grégory Lemarchal. She later returned to the show in a coaching role in 2022, working alongside Marlène Schaff and later Fanny Delaigue to prepare contestants for the weekly live shows. Her time as a coach spanned three seasons, during which she became a familiar face to fans of the program. In March, Bernardoni was placed under judicial custody in Neuilly-sur-Seine after her ex-husband filed a complaint against her, alleging violence against their 16-year-old daughter. She was later released under judicial supervision but missed one of the live shows of Danse avec les stars (Dancing with the Stars), where she had finished in fourth place behind Samuel Bambi. Bernardoni is not the only one leaving Star Academy. Earlier this year, Le Parisien reported that Michael Goldman, son of famous French musician Jean-Jacques Goldman, would not return as the show's director this season. He had taken over the role in 2022. Marlène Schaff, a former coach and acting teacher, is also stepping down from her role. These changes mark a transition period for the show as it prepares for a new season with new faces and leadership.
