Fiat Topolino's 2027 model launched in the US

The Fiat Topolino, a small electric car, has launched its 2027 model in the United States, following a fast-selling initial batch. The new version includes a convertible option, new colors, and a road homologation now included from the start.

Unique features of the new model

The 2027 model of the Fiat Topolino includes a retractable fabric hood and asymmetric doors in its new Open Air version. This allows users to enjoy open-air driving while still having a partially enclosed body, making it more practical than a fully open-top vehicle.

Homologation change simplifies use

The main novelty of the 2027 model is its road homologation. Unlike earlier models that required a conversion kit to drive on certain American roads, the new version is already compliant with Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV) regulations at the time of delivery.

Price and availability in the US

The new Fiat Topolino is priced at 14,985 dollars, including delivery fees. This is significantly higher than the price in France, where the car starts at 9,990 euros. Despite the cost, dealers reported quick sales of the initial stock.

Limited speed and use cases

The Topolino is limited to a maximum speed of 25 mph (40 km/h), compared to 45 km/h for the European version. It can only be driven on roads with a speed limit of 35 mph (56 km/h) or lower, making it unsuitable for highways or long-distance travel.

Fiat's target audience and delivery options

Fiat aims to promote the Topolino for short-distance travel in residential areas, beach resorts, and private communities. The company also offers free home delivery for customers within 50 miles (80 km) of a participating dealer, highlighting its focus on convenience and accessibility.
