Rod Stewart, 81, has canceled the remaining dates of his U.S. tour after undergoing heart surgery, as reported by multiple media outlets. His representatives had previously stated that he was "doing very well" post-surgery and had "returned to his normal daily activities." Stewart's wife, Penny Lancaster, recently shared an update on his health, saying he remains full of "voracious energy" despite the recent health challenges. Lancaster spoke on ITV's Loose Women program, explaining that Stewart is eager to return to work and is already looking forward to his tour next year and recording new music. She mentioned that he has resumed his usual routine and is even going to the gym three times a week. Stewart and Lancaster married in 2007 after eight years of dating and share two sons, Alastair, 22, and Aiden, 15. He has been married twice before and has six children from previous relationships. Earlier this month, Lancaster reassured fans that Stewart would "come back stronger than ever" after undergoing a coronary stent procedure. She noted that while he was "back at full speed in his day-to-day activities," doctors advised him to cancel the tour due to the risks involved. Lancaster also revealed that they had to explain to the doctor what Stewart's performances are like, with the singer running around on stage for nearly two hours with multiple costume changes, often sweating heavily through his outfits. In August, Stewart announced that he was cutting his U.S. tour short to recover from heart surgery, canceling performances in Ohio, Illinois, Mexico, and a six-night stretch at Las Vegas' Caesars Palace. In an Instagram post, he said he was "already feeling better and very much on the mend" and thanked the medical staff who cared for him. He expressed disappointment at missing the shows and apologized to his fans, saying he looked forward to returning to the stage soon. Earlier in the year, Stewart had postponed shows in Cincinnati and Cleveland due to medical concerns and had to cancel events in May and June after suffering from a sinus infection. His recent health issues have led to multiple tour adjustments, but he and his wife remain optimistic about his recovery and future performances.
