Home invasion reported in Saint-Chaptes
Individuals entered the home of a couple living in a villa in the Saint-Chaptes area during the night of Monday to Tuesday. The intruders were searching for cash and jewelry and threatened the two people present during the break-in.
Incident causes injury to property owner
The property owner was struck during the incident, though the extent of the damage to the home was not known at this stage. The couple has been psychologically affected by the nighttime aggression.
Victim receives medical attention
The man was treated by firefighters and evacuated to the CHU of Nîmes for further care. The gendarmes arrived after the suspects had already fled the scene.
Investigation launched by local authorities
The investigation has been assigned to the Gard gendarmerie group and the Nîmes Research Section. Numerous investigations, including scientific police work, have been conducted at the site of the attack.
