Co-founders of ESCAPE by

Caroline Chapeaux and Jean-Charles Ben Sichou have created ESCAPE by, a custom travel brand led by the collective My Way. Jean-Charles Ben Sichou began his career in international cooperation with the United Nations in Lebanon, then in economic intelligence, before transitioning into travel through investment guides on emerging countries.

From field experience to travel design

Jean-Charles Ben Sichou worked as a travel advisor at Voyageurs du Monde, where his field experience and commercial instinct were valued despite his lack of formal tourism training. He later worked at Continents Insolites before choosing independence in 2024, positioning himself as a travel designer rather than a traditional travel agent.

ESCAPE by’s brand identity

ESCAPE by was created last month by Jean-Charles Ben Sichou and Caroline Chapeaux, who previously worked together at Continents Insolites. They wanted to build a brand that reflects their values of freedom, closeness, and personalization while offering clients a secure framework. They use personal signatures: "By Caroline" and "By Jean-Charles."

Collaboration and client focus

Caroline and Jean-Charles each have their own client base, with Caroline focusing more on Belgium and Jean-Charles on France. They share knowledge and resources through a website and newsletters but maintain individual client management. Their work is exclusively in the B2C market, serving couples, honeymooners, groups of friends, and retirees.

Travel destinations and partnerships

ESCAPE by specializes in creating custom trips in diverse destinations like Tanzania, Argentina, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, and Japan. They have built a network of local partners and trusted agents, particularly in safari destinations such as Tanzania, Kenya, and Namibia, which continue to perform well despite global volatility.

Leveraging artificial intelligence

The travel industry is adapting to the use of artificial intelligence, which some customers use to generate travel proposals. Jean-Charles Ben Sichou sees this as a tool to validate his own ideas, though the future of AI in travel remains uncertain.

Dual career in travel and writing

Jean-Charles Ben Sichou also writes travel guides for Larousse, including a guide on Spain published in February 2026. His guides focus on itineraries rather than traditional city-by-city formats, offering both popular and lesser-known destinations. He plans to publish a guide on Greece in February 2027, after spending the summer exploring the country.

Future goals for ESCAPE by

The founders of ESCAPE by aim to establish the brand, continue creating personalized travel experiences, and expand their network of trusted partners. They seek long-term growth that preserves their personal relationships with clients and remain open to welcoming other travel designers in the future.
