The Bark Society, a Parisian photography studio, immortalizes dogs in star-like portraits, offering pet owners a chance to capture their furry friends in professional shots.
Photography studio for dogs
Sofia Madafi and Valérie Mathilde have created The Bark Society, a photography studio specializing in portraits of dogs. The studio offers a space where dog owners can have their pets professionally photographed, capturing their personalities and charm.Cats not always welcome
While cats can also be photographed, Sofia Madafi notes that "they are not always happy to leave their apartment. And honestly, they have fewer expressions." This observation reflects the studio's focus on dogs, which are more cooperative and expressive during photo sessions.Inspiration from a dog
The business idea was born two years ago thanks to Brett, Sofia's dog. As she explains, "We had the idea to invite people to come to the studio so they could also have beautiful photos of their dog, like the ones I had." Brett's presence and the photos taken of him inspired the concept of The Bark Society.Dreams of pet owners
The Bark Society aims to realize the dream of pet owners by immortalizing their dogs like stars in a photo call. Sofia, who is an art director and collaborates with fashion and luxury houses, and Valérie, who is responsible for photographing the animals, combine their passion for imagery and their love for animals.A dog's paradise
In Paris's 11th arrondissement, dog owners come one after another to have their beloved pets photographed. Zigzag, a dachshund owned by Florent, runs everywhere but "he loves being photographed. We come here often, and once on set, he becomes very serious," his owner claims.Treats and time
Here, the dog is king, time is taken, fun is had, and especially, treats are distributed by the two owners. Dalmatians, small black dogs, poodles, and others are available, but no cats or rabbits are in sight. The studio's focus remains on dogs, who seem more enthusiastic about the experience.Future plans
Sofia and Valérie have chosen to rent a photo studio by the hour, but they hope to one day open their own space, open for both professional shoots and family moments. Their business idea was inspired by the beauty of Brett, Sofia's dog, and the positive response from customers has encouraged them to keep growing.
