One year after introducing the C3 projector at the IFA trade show, Hisense has unveiled three new models: the C3 Pro, C3 Ultra, and C3 Ultra Max. These projectors build on the previous C3 model, which was the direct successor to the C2. They all use Hisense's TriChroma triple laser technology, which is known for its long lifespan and consistent brightness. The new models offer improvements in brightness, contrast, and installation flexibility, with a major highlight being the inclusion of a true lens shift, which allows for more flexible positioning without moving the projector itself. The C3 Pro, C3 Ultra, and C3 Ultra Max were officially announced at IFA 2026 for the French market, with prices set at 2,499, 2,999, and 3,999 euros, respectively. These models are expected to be available in the fourth quarter of the year. The C3 Pro offers 3,000 ANSI lumens of brightness, while the C3 Ultra reaches 4,000 ANSI lumens, and the C3 Ultra Max pushes the limit to 5,000 ANSI lumens. All three models project a 4K UHD image up to 300 inches in size and support a wide color gamut, with Hisense claiming 118% of the BT.2020 standard and a Delta E value under 0.8, which indicates accurate color reproduction. A key advancement in the new models is the lens shift feature, which allows the image to be moved up to ±100% vertically and ±35% horizontally on the C3 Pro and C3 Ultra, and even further on the C3 Ultra Max, with ±120% vertical and ±47% horizontal movement. This makes it easier to position the projector in fixed installations without needing to adjust the room layout. The C3 Ultra Max also includes liquid cooling to manage the increased brightness and supports a broader range of projection distances. The native contrast of all models has been improved to 5,000:1, a significant jump from the previous 2,000:1 of the original C3. Hisense has also focused on enhancing the audio and gaming features of the new models. The C3 Pro and C3 Ultra include a 2.1 audio system tuned by Devialet, a high-end audio brand, while the C3 Ultra Max features a custom-designed system by Devialet, suggesting a deeper collaboration for the top-tier model. Gaming performance is emphasized with a 1 ms response time at 2K resolution and 240 Hz, as well as support for Xbox Game Pass via the VIDAA OS 9.6. These upgrades suggest that the new C3 series is not just an evolution but a significant step forward in projector technology, particularly with the lens shift feature, which could greatly influence how these projectors are used in everyday settings.
