Peugeot is upgrading the equipment across its entire vehicle range in response to customer feedback and market competition. The French automaker is introducing features like rearview cameras, adaptive cruise control, and a large 21-inch curved screen to bring its models in line with those of its rivals. Alain Favey, head of the Peugeot brand, stated that the upgrades follow criticism from the press about the under-equipment of certain models. The Allure and GT trims are now being rebranded as Allure Plus and GT Plus, with no change in price, allowing customers to get more features for the same cost. The Peugeot e-208 and e-2008 models will now include a rearview camera as standard on the Allure Plus trim, along with keyless access and start. The GT Plus version regains features like connected navigation, Highway Assist 1.0, and smartphone induction charging. Similar upgrades are being rolled out for the Peugeot e-3008 and e-5008. The 3008 Allure trim, which previously had two 10-inch screens, will now feature the large curved 21-inch screen as standard on the Allure Plus trim, along with connected navigation, adaptive cruise control, front radar, and induction charging. The GT Plus version gains Highway Assist, long-range blind spot monitoring, and rear traffic alert. The e-308 and e-408 models also receive similar improvements. The Allure Plus trim on the e-308 includes front parking radar, connected navigation, customizable i-Toggles, lumbar seat adjustment for the driver, keyless access, and induction charging. The GT Plus version adds Highway Assist 1.0, long-range blind spot monitoring, and rear traffic alert. The e-408's Allure Plus trim gains the front radar, navigation, i-Toggles, lumbar adjustment, and induction charger, while the hybrid versions also benefit from 19-inch wheels. Peugeot has noted a rise in sales for its electric vehicles, with a 32% increase in sales for this engine type in Europe by the end of August. In France, Alain Favey mentioned that the share of private customers in electric orders has grown from 20 to 60%. Social leasing has played a significant role, with 5,000 orders recorded in a single week. However, Peugeot also said that demand is no longer solely dependent on this feature. The equipment upgrades, without any price increases, are considered timely in the current competitive landscape. Additionally, Peugeot is extending the Connect Plus subscription from six months to four years, with added equipment valued up to 1,750 euros.
