Samsung Galaxy users can customize power button settings to bypass AI assistants and use traditional power menu options.
Samsung Galaxy power button customization
Samsung Galaxy users can customize their power button settings to turn off their phones without using an AI assistant. This option allows for a more traditional power-off experience, bypassing the default AI assistant that is typically activated when the power button is pressed.AI assistant integration in power button
Like other smartphone manufacturers, Samsung has integrated AI assistants into the power button function on its Galaxy devices. When the power button is pressed, it usually triggers an AI assistant, such as Google’s Gemini or Samsung’s Bixby, instead of showing a traditional power menu.Adjusting power button settings
To change the power button behavior, users can go to Settings > Advanced Features > Side Key. From there, they can enable or disable the Double Press feature and choose what action is triggered when it is used. Available options include launching the flashlight, Samsung Wallet, a routine, a specific app, or the camera.Customizing long press function
The Long Press option allows users to display the classic Power Off menu instead of the default AI assistant. However, by default, users cannot assign other shortcuts to this long press. To expand the available options, the Good Lock app and its Registar module can be used to add more custom shortcuts when holding the power button or tapping the back of the device.
