Reolink, a manufacturer of surveillance cameras, is unveiling a new triple-lens camera called the OMVI 2i Ultra at the IFA 2026 event. This model is available in two versions: one powered by a removable battery and another that includes a solar panel. The camera is designed to offer advanced monitoring capabilities without the need for a wired power source, making it more versatile for outdoor or remote installations. The OMVI 2i Ultra features three lenses. Two of them provide an 8-megapixel panoramic view, allowing users to monitor a wide area, while a 5-megapixel motorized lens can focus on specific subjects or areas. This motorized lens can rotate 355° and tilt up to 50°, offering a high degree of flexibility. The SyncTrack feature allows the camera to automatically switch to the motorized lens when movement is detected in the panoramic view, adjusting its framing and zoom to keep the subject in focus. Users can also manually control the motorized lens by tapping on specific areas in the app. Reolink claims the camera can operate for up to six months on a single charge, though this depends on usage conditions. The included solar panel, with an improved efficiency of 26%, is expected to keep the camera running with just 30 minutes of daily sunlight, even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions. The OMVI 2i Ultra will be available in autumn 2026, priced between €200 and €250. A simpler version, the OMVI 2i Max, will be sold through major retailers like Darty and Fnac. Reolink also plans to release the OMVI X16 PoE, a high-resolution wired model with a 16x optical zoom, later in the year. In addition to new hardware, Reolink is enhancing its local AI engine, ReoNeura, to support Custom AI Detection. This update allows users to train the system to recognize specific situations at home, such as detecting when a gate is left open. These features will be integrated with the Home Hub 2, a centralized device that can manage up to eight cameras and handle up to 16 terabytes of storage without a subscription. The Home Hub 2 will be available in autumn at €160 and includes natural language search capabilities for reviewing recorded footage. Other new products, like the TrackFlex WiFi, will also be released in late 2026, offering advanced features such as 4K resolution and automatic tracking.
