The spring-summer 2027 Paris Fashion Week provided scenographers with the perfect opportunity to showcase their creativity and talent. The season began with a provocative show by Matières Fécales on the Place de la République, a location that marked the first time in the history of fashion that a show took place there. Saint Laurent, designed by Anthony Vaccarello, presented a set composed of giant golden chandeliers on the Place du Trocadéro, inspired by the first haute couture shows held in the imperial salon of the InterContinental Hotel. Chanel invested the nave of the Grand Palais, a location favored by Karl Lagerfeld and Matthieu Blazy, who was celebrating the first anniversary of his very first ready-to-wear collection. The house deployed a deeply magical universe, featuring a superb flock of birds overshadowed by a suspended moon, evoking the poetry of The Wonderful Adventures of Nils Holgersson. Givenchy's accessories, as desirable as they are functional, made headlines, demonstrating Sarah Burton's attention to detail in imagining fashion attentive to women's needs. Louis Vuitton's show took place in the Cour Carrée of the Louvre, with a concept inspired by urban chaos, translated into a scenography imagined by James Chinlund. Futuristic-looking concept cars appeared to float in the air, as if suspended above the city's chaos. Valentino's show was held in the Sainte-Geneviève library, facing the Pantheon, where Alessandro Michele made fashion and literature dialogue through the Antibiblioteca principle. Guests were invited to bring their own books, which were collected and redistributed to public Parisian and regional libraries in partnership with Bibliothèques Sans Frontières and several associations. Dior's show took place in the Tuileries Garden, where the Octagonal Basin was enveloped in mist and punctuated by a cluster of camphor trees, creating an immersive experience. Miu Miu transformed the Palais d'Iéna into a kind of gym, mirroring the 90's sportswear aesthetic of the show, welcoming a five-star casting including Emma Corrin, Jamie Bell, Olivia Colman, Igby Rigney, and Ella Bleu Travolta. Balenciaga's show was held at the Paris Tennis Club, featuring an immaculate decor centered around a sculpture by French artist Aude Franjou titled Les Coraux de la Liberté from 2025, which takes the form of a giant coral. Loewe's show at the Esplanade Saint-Louis did not follow the usual seating arrangements, with guests divided into two floors around a circular runway, allowing them to fully appreciate the scenography. Acne Studios transformed the Collège des Bernardins into a real galleon, immersed in a pirate atmosphere, with giant crystal chandeliers emerging from all sides and impressive oriental carpets with distorted motifs by artist Faig Ahmed decorating the walls. Dries Van Noten presented its collection in an immaculate, minimalist, and silent setting at the Carreau du Temple. Jean Paul Gaultier's show at the Palais de Tokyo featured several large mirrors creating a visual confusion reminiscent of the Palace of Mirrors. Marie Adam-Leenaerdt's show in the 5th arrondissement of Paris was set in a supermarket recalling the aseptic layout of products from Erewhon, with mannequins walking the runway pushing a shopping cart. Rick Owens' show at the Palais de Tokyo featured smoke, water jets like fountains, and an elevated runway, continuing the signature style of the designer. Celine's show at the Musée des Archives Nationales was structured like a monumental palm hut, infusing a calming summer breeze. Mugler's show at the Louvre Museum featured pyramids upright and upside down and the Mona Lisa reproduced infinitely, with the transformation almost part of the decor installed at the heart of the Carrousel.
