Google Photos has introduced a new "Redact" tool, which allows users to blur out sensitive information or other elements in their photos. This feature is part of an updated Markup tool, which now includes additional fonts and more precise controls for adjusting the thickness of pens and highlighters used to annotate images. The Redact tool is being rolled out to all Android users worldwide, giving them the ability to edit photos more privately and securely. Alongside the Redact update, Google is expanding access to its Wardrobe feature, which lets users catalog their clothing and jewelry by analyzing images in their photo library. This feature helps users generate styling ideas based on their existing wardrobe. While not all users have access to Wardrobe yet, those in the US, India, or Brazil using Android or iOS devices will soon be able to use it. Google has also made changes to how its Photos feature works within Gemini Spark, its AI-powered app. Users who are subscribed to Google AI Pro or Ultra in the US can now search for and edit images using a single text prompt, making the process faster and more intuitive. Additionally, Android users can now apply vintage-inspired filters to their photos using the Moods feature, enhancing the visual style of their images. In select countries, both Android and iOS users will see 15 new Remix templates. These templates allow users to create stylized images, such as red carpet photos or photo booth shots, using their own likeness. This feature expands the creative possibilities for users looking to generate personalized images from their photos.
