The 2026 World Airlines Awards, organized by the London-based Skytrax, have named the world's top 20 airlines based on a large-scale passenger satisfaction survey. This survey, considered the largest of its kind, evaluated airlines across various aspects like service quality, comfort, and cleanliness. Singapore Airlines emerged as the best airline in the world, securing the top spot out of over 300 airlines. Last year’s winner, Qatar Airways, took second place, while Cathay Pacific Airways ranked third, ANA All Nippon Airways fourth, and Turkish Airlines fifth. Asian airlines dominated the list, with 12 of the top 20 coming from the continent, including Turkish Airlines. Europe had five airlines in the top 20, with Air France ranking seventh, Lufthansa at fourteenth, Iberia at sixteenth, and Swiss International Air Lines at nineteenth. The only UK-based airline in the top 20 was Virgin Atlantic, owned by Richard Branson. Virgin operates flights from Edinburgh, Heathrow, and Manchester to 32 destinations across five continents. Cathay Pacific was named the World’s Best Cabin Crew, while Starlux Airlines from Taiwan won the World’s Cleanest Airline category. In other categories, AirAsia claimed the title of World’s Best Low-Cost Airline, and Air France was awarded the World’s Best First Class. Vueling, a Spanish low-cost airline, took the top spot as the Best Low-Cost Airline in Europe. The complete list of winners for each category is available on Skytrax’s website.
