ChatGPT users report issues

Users began reporting problems with ChatGPT on Monday, November 2, around 5:30 PM Paris time. They described encountering a blank screen or responses that stopped mid-sentence, suggesting a disruption in the service’s normal operation.

Service status remains normal according to OpenAI

Despite the user reports, OpenAI confirmed that its service is functioning normally. However, the partial outage still impacted many users, even though it was not a complete failure of the platform.

Cloudflare network partially affected

An explanation from the Indian site PaidFreeDroid suggested that Cloudflare’s network was operating at half capacity. While OpenAI’s servers were functioning normally, some Cloudflare relays were losing data in India, North America, and Europe.

Error codes and connection issues

Users experienced error pages 520, 522, or 524, which appear when Cloudflare does not receive a response from OpenAI’s servers in time. ChatGPT might also seem to work by sending responses word by word, but if the connection drops, the text might cut off or repeat.

Similar outages have occurred before

This type of issue is not new. On November 18, 2025, a Cloudflare outage disrupted ChatGPT, X, and Shopify for several hours. At that time, OpenAI attributed the problem to a "third-party service provider."

No confirmation from OpenAI or Cloudflare

As of now, neither OpenAI nor Cloudflare has officially confirmed the current incident. Other monitoring tools, like UptimeRobot, have not detected any errors from North America, suggesting the outage is limited to specific regions.
