The Saône-et-Loire Department is starting the active implementation of its Departmental Strategy for Integration and Employment (SDIE), which covers the years 2026 to 2028. Approved by the local government on December 17, 2025, this plan is designed to assist individuals receiving the RSA (Revenue de Solidarité Active), a form of social assistance in France, by helping them become more independent, gain new skills, and find jobs. The strategy works with a network of local partners and aims to address the specific needs of different areas within the department. To carry out the strategy, the department launched a call for projects in April 2026, inviting associations, training centers, and employment agencies to submit proposals. Out of the many applications, 22 projects were chosen. These projects will support RSA beneficiaries until December 2028. Their goals are to better align job training with local employment opportunities and to assist businesses that struggle to find workers. The selected projects focus on four main areas: improving basic skills (such as fighting illiteracy and digital illiteracy, and learning French), helping people overcome challenges related to mobility, considering mental health and disability issues, and supporting older workers who are looking to stay in the workforce. One of the selected projects is called Connect RS. It is led by the Tremplin association in partnership with Syntaxe Erreur. This initiative provides RSA beneficiaries with used laptops and teaches them how to use digital tools that are important for job searching, including artificial intelligence. By 2028, 120 computers will be distributed across the department. This effort is expected to prevent the emission of more than 23 tonnes of carbon dioxide, contributing to environmental sustainability. The SDIE strategy reflects a broader effort to create more inclusive and sustainable employment opportunities in Saône-et-Loire. By combining job training, digital inclusion, and environmental benefits, the department hopes to make a meaningful impact on the lives of RSA beneficiaries while supporting the local economy.
