Microsoft unveiled its latest additions to the Surface product line at the Snapdragon Summit in Maui, including the new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models, along with a new mouse and a new application. These devices are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus processors, which are designed for efficient performance in both mobile and desktop environments. The Surface Pro and Surface Laptop both come in a new black finish, though the Jade color option continues to be popular with some users. The Surface Laptop features an aluminum body, while the Surface Pro is a 12-inch (or 13-inch) tablet that comes with a keyboard-case that can be laid flat on a table. The 12-inch model weighs 686 grams without the keyboard, and adding the keyboard-case brings the total weight to about 907 grams. The Surface Pro includes a 165-degree hinge that allows for tilting backward, making it suitable for drawing and writing. The Surface Slim Pen, which is compatible with the Surface Pro, features haptic feedback, giving users a tactile response when using it. The new Surface Mouse is ambidextrous and includes vibration feedback. It also has an action button that can be reprogrammed, although the customization is not specific to individual applications. The new application, Ink Canvas, allows users to create large documents with integrated artificial intelligence features. These features include converting handwritten text into digital text and generating images from sketches. Ink Canvas will be pre-installed on the Surface Pro 12 and the Surface Laptop 13 when they launch, and it will be available in the Microsoft App Store next month for all Windows users. The 12-inch Surface Pro starts at 1260 euros, the Surface Laptop at 1320 euros, and the Surface Mouse at 90 euros. According to Microsoft, the new laptops will be available for purchase by October 13.
