Arch ! frugale – 28 projets néo-aquitains, a traveling exhibition focused on frugal architecture, is currently on display at Domolandes, a technopôle dedicated to sustainable and digital construction in Saint-Geours-de-Maremne, France. The exhibition, organized by the 308 Maison de l’Architecture en Nouvelle-Aquitaine, will remain open until October 31, 2026. It showcases 28 architectural projects from across the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region that explore the concept of frugality in construction, emphasizing efficiency, sustainability, and the use of local resources. Frugality in this context refers to designing and building with fewer materials and resources while still meeting functional and aesthetic needs. The projects featured in the exhibition highlight strategies such as reusing existing structures, adapting buildings to their natural surroundings, and rethinking traditional construction methods to reduce environmental impact. These approaches address pressing challenges in the construction industry, including rising material costs, environmental concerns, and the need for more sustainable urban planning. The exhibition is supported by several organizations, including the DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the Regional Council of the Order of Architects of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and the Agency for Quality Construction. It was also developed in collaboration with the association Frugalité heureuse et créative and Odéys, a group focused on innovative architectural solutions. These partnerships reflect a growing interest in sustainable and resource-conscious building practices across the region. Visitors can view the exhibition at Domolandes, which is open during its regular operating hours. Admission is free, making it accessible to the public. The exhibition serves as both an educational and inspirational resource for architects, urban planners, and anyone interested in the future of sustainable construction.
