Water supply adjustments in Dzaoudzi and Pamandzi

The SMAE (Mahoraise des Eaux) has informed residents of the communes of Dzaoudzi and Pamandzi that the current low levels in the Petite Terre reservoirs make it impossible to ensure water supply for all subscribers. To manage the situation and ensure priority users such as schools and hospitals receive water, the company is adjusting the times when the water network opens and closes.

Changes in water supply hours

For subscribers in sector 3, which includes areas like Labattoir La Vigie, Pamandzi Ouest, and Dzaoudzi Boulevard des Crabes, the water network will open at 14:00 instead of the usual 10:00. In sector 1, covering Labattoir Centre, Pamandzi La Vigie, and Pamandzi Est, the network will close at 10:00 instead of the usual 16:00.

Precautions for water use

During the resumption of water supply, the SMAE advises users to close all taps in their homes and let the water flow slowly for the first few minutes. This helps to clear any sediment or contaminants that may have built up during the interruption.

Safety measures for drinking water

The SMAE also recommends letting the water run until it becomes clear, using it for non-consumption purposes while collecting it in a container. For drinking and cooking, the water should be boiled for the first half day after the supply resumes to ensure it is safe for consumption.
