Metro has uncovered a website where women, some appearing to be underage, are filmed in public spaces without their consent. One of the victims, Eranta Ntatsi, 29, was recorded walking along Wood Green’s High Road three years ago. She discovered the video when a man who follows her husband’s social media accounts recognized her and sent the footage to him. Eranta described the experience as "being raped in the moment" and said she felt "completely violated and abused." The videos, which appear to have been filmed across London, include footage of women and girls in busy locations such as Stratford Westfield, Oxford Street, and underground train stations. Some of the videos show women wearing shorts or leggings, and thumbnails of their faces are used to entice viewers to subscribe. The website claims to host around 400 videos, with titles like 'Sunny Day Shopper' and 'Spanish brunette.' The Metropolitan Police confirmed they would support any victim who comes forward to report being filmed inappropriately. Detective Superintendent Dan Thompson, the Met’s lead on Violence Against Women and Girls, said women should feel safe in London and urged those affected to report the incident. The Victim’s Commissioner for London, Andrea Simon, expressed concern over the scale of the issue and the need for stronger enforcement of the Online Safety Act. This law requires websites to remove nonconsensual image-based abuse within 48 hours. A government spokesperson said the government would launch a call for evidence to better understand online misogynistic image-based abuse and ensure the law keeps pace with emerging harms. Janaya Walker, Interim Director of the End Violence Against Women Coalition (EVAW), criticized the platforms for collating such videos, which exposes victims to further harm and glorifies abusive behavior. Metro has not published the name of the website to avoid attracting more traffic. Women who suspect they may have been filmed are encouraged to contact the police. The investigation suggests that at least two men, possibly a third, are running the website using hidden cameras.
