The TCL 75C79K television is now available for less than 750 euros on Amazon Prime, marking a price drop of about 22% compared to its typical cost. This 4K Mini-Led television is a slightly more affordable option compared to the highly praised TCL C89K. It offers good brightness, contrast, and access to Google TV applications, which provide a range of streaming and smart features. The TCL 75C79K also delivers precise color in both standard dynamic range (SDR) and high dynamic range (HDR) formats, effective contrast and local dimming, and is compatible with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, which enhance the visual experience for supported content. Despite these strengths, the TCL 75C79K has some drawbacks. It has limited viewing angles, meaning the picture quality may degrade when viewed from the side. It also suffers from reflections on the screen and some blooming, where bright areas can bleed into darker ones. The television has only two HDMI 2.1 ports, which are important for high-speed gaming and other advanced devices. Its stand is described as too deep for some setups, and the remote control lacks backlighting, which can be inconvenient in low-light environments. The TCL 75C79K still manages to deliver a bright, contrasted, and accurate image at a competitive price. While it doesn’t match the performance of higher-end models, it offers a well-balanced option with some trade-offs, such as reduced viewing angles and audio that could be better. It is a versatile choice for those seeking a high-performance screen without the need for the most expensive models. The price reduction is based on comparisons between the lowest price of the day and the average of the lowest prices from other retailers last month, with adjustments to avoid unclear pricing from certain stores, often associated with imports from China. For users with a tighter budget, the TCL C69K is another Mini-Led television that offers good value. It performs well in SDR and is particularly strong for gaming, with an audio quality that is surprisingly effective for its price range. However, it has some limitations in HDR performance and managing screen reflections, which may be noticeable in certain lighting conditions.
