Netflix is set to release a wide array of new films, series, and documentaries in October 2026, offering content for nearly every viewer preference. One of the most anticipated titles is the series East of Eden, adapted from the classic John Steinbeck novel. Premiering on October 1st, the series is directed by Garth Davis and Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, with a script by Zoe Kazan. It features a stellar cast including Florence Pugh, Mike Faist, Christopher Abbott, and Ciaran Hinds. The series is expected to draw in fans of literary adaptations and dramatic storytelling. The film of the month is Jurassic World: Renaissance, scheduled for release on October 4th. This installment follows a group of surviving dinosaurs in isolated areas and stars Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey. While praised for its creative direction by Gareth Edwards, the film has also drawn criticism for falling into familiar traps of the franchise, including a screenplay seen as clichéd by some reviewers. In addition to these highlights, Netflix will offer a variety of new series and films throughout the month. These include returning shows like Matlock (Seasons 1 and 2) and Mayor of Kingstown (Seasons 1 to 4), as well as new series such as Super BOOMi and My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. Documentaries, reality TV, and live events will also be featured, with releases ranging from Who is Martin Mull? on October 7th to SCTV: The Televisions Gem No One Knows on October 30th. The month will also see the arrival of several films, including Jurassic World: Renaissance and a lineup of horror and thriller titles toward the end of October. These include Halloween, It, and Doctor Sleep, appealing to fans of suspenseful and spooky cinema. With such a diverse lineup, Netflix aims to cater to all tastes, ensuring there is something for every viewer in October 2026.
