Discover Airlines adds new aircraft

Discover Airlines, a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, is set to add four Airbus A350-900 aircraft to its fleet starting in 2025. These planes will be transferred from the Lufthansa fleet and will be used to expand Discover Airlines’ long-haul operations.

First aircraft arrives in 2025

The first A350-900 is expected to arrive in June 2025. Initially, it will be used for crew training on a high-frequency short-haul route before being deployed on a long-haul flight from Frankfurt, likely to Calgary or Orlando.

More aircraft added in 2027 and 2028

The second A350-900 will join Discover Airlines in December 2027, with the third and fourth units arriving before the summer of 2028. This expansion is part of a larger plan to modernize the airline’s fleet.

Future fleet expansion planned

Discover Airlines has announced plans to add nine more A350-900 aircraft to its fleet starting in 2029. These planes will replace the airline’s current A330-300 aircraft, which are currently in service.

Older aircraft retired

The airline has recently retired its last Airbus A330-200, a plane that had been in service for nearly 22 years. This marks a significant step in the modernization of Discover Airlines’ fleet.
