Three-year-old Noah Woods was found dead in a lake in Suffolk after leaving a play area through a gap in the fence, as revealed during an inquest in Ipswich. Noah went missing on September 15 in Brantham, Suffolk, after becoming separated from a relative near a playground. At the time, Noah was non-verbal, partially deaf, and undergoing an assessment for autism. His disappearance prompted a large-scale search involving over 1,300 volunteers, supported by the National Police Air Service, HM Coastguard, Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service, and Suffolk Lowland Search & Rescue. More than 24 hours after he went missing, police confirmed that dive teams had recovered a child’s body from a local lake known as Decoy Pond. The body was later identified as Noah. The inquest into his death was formally launched at the Suffolk Coroner’s Court in Ipswich. Suffolk Police stated that the discovery was being treated as unexplained, with no evidence of suspicious activity. Noah’s father paid tribute to his son on social media, describing him as “the sweetest and most innocent little boy.” He expressed the family’s deep heartbreak and gratitude for the support they received from volunteers and authorities during “the darkest time of our lives.” In honor of Noah, a tribute was shown on the big screen before the Everton versus Ipswich Town Premier League match, and the players wore black armbands in his memory. In the days following Noah’s death, more than £100,000 has been raised to support his family. The community’s outpouring of grief and support reflects the profound impact Noah had on those around him, even in his short life.
