Google is developing a new interface for Gemini Live, offering better voice control and visual updates, though it's not yet available to users.
New Gemini Live interface in development
Google is reportedly working on a new interface for Gemini Live, its voice-based conversational assistant, according to a report by Android Authority. The update was discovered in version 17.65.17 of the Google app and includes several new features aimed at improving user interaction.Muting assistant voice without changing phone volume
One of the new features allows users to mute Gemini Live's voice without adjusting the smartphone's overall volume. Currently, users must lower their phone's volume to avoid hearing the assistant's spoken responses, which also silences other notifications. The new option would provide more precise control over the assistant's audio output.Visual changes and interface redesign
The update would also include a visual overhaul of the Gemini Live interface. A new color gradient is being introduced to change the appearance of the assistant's sound wave, along with a redesigned sound animation. These changes aim to enhance the user experience and make interactions with the assistant more visually engaging.New interface not yet available
Despite these updates, the new interface is still under development and not yet available to users. Some standard functions, such as video sharing or screen sharing, are still missing from the current version. Google has not officially announced when or if the updated interface will be released to the public.
