Nvidia RTX 5080 with 24GB memory rumored

The specialized website VideoCardz reports that Nvidia may launch an RTX 5080 graphics card with 24 gigabytes of video memory by January 2027. This version would replace the current 16 gigabyte model rather than being released alongside it.

Nvidia removes RTX 5080 and 5090 from store

The rumor comes at a time when Nvidia has recently removed the RTX 5080 from its American online store, a few days after doing the same with the RTX 5090. This suggests that the company may be preparing for a new release or addressing supply issues.

Increased video memory offers benefits

Increasing from 16 to 24 gigabytes represents an additional 50 percent of video memory, which is where the card stores the textures of games or the AI models that are run locally. This could improve performance in more demanding applications and games.

Nvidia partners await design kits

Nvidia's partners are still waiting for the plans. The schedule is already tight, and in a second article, VideoCardz indicates that Nvidia has not yet provided design kits to the manufacturers who assemble and sell the GeForce cards under their own brand.

Design kits delay production

These kits contain what is needed to design the card's circuit and its cooling system. Without them, the partners cannot start production of their models, which would leave little room for a January release. For the RTX 5090, Nvidia had previously denied the discontinuation of the card while acknowledging supply difficulties.

Nvidia remains silent on new model

For now, Nvidia has not confirmed the existence of this 24 gigabyte RTX 5080 and has not provided a price or date. The company has not responded to the rumors, leaving the future of the card uncertain.
